THEOLOGY [SHORT VERSIOn]

We get questions like these alot:

What kind of Christians are you? How big is your church? Do you speak in tongues?

Many times the person asking is very sincere, but sometimes they’re just looking for a quick excuse to write us off. Either way, there is no love lost. We’ll keep on being who God called us to be. So here’s a short description of what that is...

We are the kind of Christians that believe Jesus was more than a nice prophet. He was either totally mad or completely God. Not only was he the Creator with skin on, he let his own creation kill him on a cross for nothing more than telling the truth. 3 days later he left his tomb and walked around with holes in his feet and hands.

After spending time with his disciples, he told them to go all over the world and preach the gospel, make disciples, heal the sick, and even raise the dead. Jesus then left his friends and told them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come and give them power to preach and perform miracles. So they did, and that was the beginning of the ‘church’.

We sincerely believe that the risen Lord Jesus lives inside anyone who believes and

trusts in his name. The Holy Spirit gives the believer power to overcome sin and transform their life completely. This same Spirit still performs biblical miracles through Christians today (tongues included).

Even though there’s internet and iphones these days, we still believe the Gospel is spread primarily through word of mouth. The good news of Jesus is something that should be shared even if it causes offense or (Lord help us) tension. Evangelism is very important to us. We just don’t want to see people go to hell.

Christ will return soon as a Judge of the living and the dead. In times like these, we feel it is of utmost importance to know and read the Bible for yourself. God will speak to those who sincerely want to know. Revelation is still the best way to understand the truth.

Biblical references were left out on purpose so that you can look for them yourself, if interested.
Here’s a quick hint though...Luke 4.
