Christmas Time

As it gets closer to Christmas time, I just wanted to bring the attention back to where this is all going.
I mean the more time goes along I see more & more the world moving away from God. Even during this time of Christmas, I am struggling to find Jesus in it at all.
I found a pull out from a newspaper, a Christmas special…
In this I just found half naked girls on every other page, trying to sell items that just plain offend God.
The reason is that the media will try anything to get our attention off of Jesus. If that means that It is just another time to party and celebrate, but why are you celebrating?
Is it because you can have a few drinks, maybe find a girl/guy to spend the night with. Or you just want to go and show off in the club, put on that nice shirt & show them how good you are.
That is not of God.
And to top it off, you have people fighting off political correctness to defend Christmas – well Santa Clause, Christmas lights & Jingle Bells, that sort of thing…
What has that got to do with the story of Christ?
6 For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor,[d] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 His government and its peace
will never end.
He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David
for all eternity.
The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will make this happen!
Jesus came to rule righteousness among us, to rule as Mighty God for all eternity, not for us to have a moment of silence, for a thought, for this baby boy that was born 2000 years ago – possibly – then to continue in life offending him.
He came to live a perfect life, not just to show us the standard of how we should live, but to heal the people that need healing & to ultimatly die for the people, so that the people may live.
The truth is that all these traditions topped with a bit of “Christianity” is not what it is about. They are in place to take the focus of Jesus, the one better than any present.
The focus should always be on him, but if not, the whole year will be full of wanting somthing better than what you have.
Well merry Christmas, and keep looking to Jesus in the new year.
