Change of Plan

We wanted very much to come, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us…1 Thess 2:18

Change of Plan: One person’s wall is another person’s hurdle, and yet another person’s detour.

I’ve learned alot about obstacles in the last few years: How to ignore them – how to confront them – and when to admit defeat and make new plans! Many times the stubborn energy I spent defying Goliath could’ve been better spent thinking of a better way around him.

In the last week my plans have been hindered by health, relational friction, snow and a car accident (no one hurt but my pocket). I don’t blame Satan for everything little that goes wrong, but I could definitely feel the collective pull of these incidents dragging me down into “Woe-is-me-land”.

I love the way the apostle Paul never the hindrances break his stride. Some of his best stories come from improvised reactions to the many detours and delays he faced along the way. We are here to fight the ‘good‘ fight and nothing else. Don’t be suckered into the never ending supply of trivial skirmishes that just suck your time, energy and attention from the big battle. As the wise man once said, “Save the drama for yo’ mama!”.

Make big plans, but don’t cry when they change. Sometimes it’s just an upgrade in disguise.

Sincerely,
Brandon and Pamela Munoz
