Eternal Currency

“Well, then,” Jesus said, “give to Caesar what belongs to him.
But everything that belongs to God must be given to God.” This reply completely amazed them. Mark 12:17

Is money actually spiritual?

Sometimes the only time we think of it that way is when an offering basket passes through our fidgety hands. Even then it’s hard to see the eternal value of earthly finances.

Here’s a simple quiz:
Has money (or lack of) been the cause of any recent stress lately?
Is there a wall named “More Cash Needed” between you and a life long dream?
Do you think God shakes his head at the same wall?

Jesus invested much of his words teaching on money. Whether comparing it heavenly riches or instructing on taxes and tithes, it’s clear that he understood what was really on people’s minds at that time in history. Has anything really changed?

I had a very spriritual experience when giving to Caesar (IRS) yesterday morning. It helped me see just how much God has provided for me and my family over last year. Adding up every expense can do that. I was also thankful that we were able to give back to God and see him do some very tangible things which had a great spiritual effect on many peoples’ lives.

It was worthy every pound & penny.

If something is hard to give, then it must be valuable. If something of value is given to God then it’s called sacrifice. And if a sacrifice given in loving gratitude then it’s known in heaven by another name:

Worship.

Still the most spiritual thing a human can do.
